The Uncommon Reader by Alan Bennett
From Saturday this book is being offered by The Times Newspaper for £2.99 when you buy the paper. Alan Bennett books are usually really funny, So I may get it.
It also has a really interesting premise too, which concerns Queen Elizabeth II, who one night, while walking her wayward corgis stumbles upon a mobile library and not wanting to seem rude decides to borrow a book, and then another, and then another.

Before too long she gets bitten by the reading bug and finds herself reading whenever she gets a moment. She becomes expert at reading in the car while waving with her free hand, and seems to be neglecting her once impeccably performed duties.
She reads capriciously and diversely, everything from Proust to Vikram Seth, and soon the seditious world of literature has her questioning her life and the political world around her….
This book is described as touching, thought-provoking & full of wry humour & sounds like just my “cup-of-tea”.
