This Sunday up to 150 classic cars will be on show at the Severn Valley Railway’s annual classic Car Show. All having one thing in common – they were built between the 1920s and 1970s , varying from classic Mini Coopers to an Elegent Rolls Royce Silver Ghost.

Highley Station will have up to 50 vehicles, at the station itself and also at The Engine House Visitor Centre. A further 30 vehicles will be also be lined up at the SVRs stations at Bridgnorth & Highley and there will also be an impressive line-up of classic Motorcycles at Hampton Loade station too.

GWR 3440 City of Truro is also rostered to be running on that day, so that will be another great opportunity for me to ride behind this fantastic locomotive – Classic cars & a classic locomotive – Now there’s a winning combination I’m definitely going.

This Saturday from 12 till 4pm there is a a Harvest Fayre at a local church. There will be loads of stalls, selling bric-a-brac, books, local produce, cakes, plants and gifts.

There will also be a tombola, a raffle & refreshments will also be served. Entertainment will also be provided by local folk group Whalebone

A DVD of the romantic comedy “Honeymoon in Vegas”, is free with Saturday’s Daily Mail newspaper.

Nicholas Cage plays a a loveably dopey commitment phobic character named Jack Singer, whose long-suffering girlfriend (Played by Sarah Jessica Parker) wants to get married in Las Vegas. Meanwhile a crooked gambler named Tommy Korman (James Caan) manages to win her in a poker game and Jack is then forced to go on an epic journey to Hawaii & back in order to win her back before she starts falling for Tommy.

The last album in the Times Newspaper’s seminal Album giveaway is Ocean Rain the 1984 album by Echo & The Bunnymen, it really takes me back hearing these tracks again, I was at school when this was released & it brings back some happy memories – Especially Killing Moon.

Being a big fan of the Star Wars films, I got quite excited when I saw this collection of Vehicles & Starships being offered by DeAgostini.

Each model is well-made & has a dispaly case, there is also a detailed booklet which comes with each model explaining about various vehicle, characters & the historical developments, aswell as a detailed look at the history & development of each of the featured vehicles & starships

Each booklet also contains background information about other characters such as droids, aliens and other motley characters featured in the Star Wars universe.
